The success of implant-based restorations and ideal esthetic outcomes depends on appropriate prosthodontic treatment planning and identification of the indications, contraindications and limitations of treatment. This program will review the rationale, indications and clinical protocol involved with immediate temporization of a dental implant following surgery. The TempShell technique presented in this program is designed to increase the clinician’s treatment efficiency and predictability and enhance patient outcomes. Dr. Habsha will provide a simplified, step-by step review of the materials and techniques involved in the fabrication of the provisional implant restoration. Attendees will participate in a didactic and hands-on understanding of the TempShell technique for fabricating single tooth implant provisionals.
Learning outcomes
– Understand the indications, contraindications and benefits of immediate implant temporization.
– Be familiar with the various techniques in the fabrication of provisional implant restorations.
– Understand the difference between conventional vs. digital impression taking.

An introduction to CBCT planning will be introduced and dentists are encouraged to bring a case from their practice on a dicom file that can be discussed and planned with Dr. Erickson.
