Global Dental Mentorship - Restorative and Surgical Implant Hands-On
The hands-on MIT course is designed to familiarize you with implant components both surgically and prosthetically. In addition, the goal is for you to gain comfort with the procedures as outlined below. For those of you with experience in dental implants, you will gain tips and tricks from our experienced clinicians. Given the synergy between surgery and prosthetics, it’s important to understand both, regardless of your area of interest.
Learning Objectives:
The following model-based procedures will be included in the hands-on instruction:
1) Review anatomy and surgical protocol
2) Place 2 implants for mandibular overdenture
3) Place single implants
4) Suturing procedures on a soft tissue model
5) Temporary crown fabrication
6) Place, pick up, and size locators for mandibular overdentures

Introduction to Digital Guided Surgery
This introductory program is perfectly suited for the general dentist wanting to embrace the enormous benefits and broad application of guided surgery. This full day didactic program will focus on the entire digital workflow available today for the management of patients requiring the replacement of the single tooth, multiple missing teeth, and the full arch. Participants will gain a profound understanding of the rationale and advantages conferred by digital planning and guidance. Emphasis will be placed on discussions related to understanding techniques for following a systematic digital workflow to achieve optimum implant positioning.
Learning Objectives
- Review and understand CBCT imaging and pertinent anatomy related to implant placement
- Compare and contrast analog and digital protocols for single tooth, short span and full arch rehabilitation
- Review the benefits of immediate-load protocols with a digital workflow
- Understand the learning curves, limitations and complications that may be associated with guided surgery

Introduction to Digital Workflow Hands-on training
This introductory program is perfectly suited for the general dentist wanting to embrace the enormous benefits and broad application of guided surgery. This half day training program will focus on the entire digital workflow(model based intra-oral scanning an digital virtual planning) available today for the management of patients requiring the replacement of the single tooth.
Learning Objectives
- Learn how to take an intra oral scan
- Learn how to merge an STL file (intra oral scan) and a DICOM file (CBCT images)
- Learn to perform digital planning for prosthetically driven implant placement for the single implant
- Learn how to communicate with the dental laboratory for the fabrication of a surgical guide and the fabrication of an immediate provisional restoration
