Core Mini-Residency in Oral Implantology

Core 4: PRF Workshop & Live-Patient Implant Surgery Program

The first day of this 3-day (30 CE) program focuses on the science and protocols of utilizing PRF and PRP in different clinical applications. Venipuncture is taught by a highly-experience phlebotomy instructor. The remaining two days will be spent treating patients under the supervision of an experience DDI faculty member. Participants will apply their previous didactic and hands-on training, such as atraumatic extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, suturing, and much more. Our participants all agree that there is so no better way to start placing implants routinely, than to complete the first few cases done the supervision of an expert.

• Pre-surgical planning
• Implant surgical principles
• Post-operative principles
• Surgical placement of implants and adjunctive procedures needed to complete the case such as atraumatic extractions, ridge augmentation, PRF utilization and indirect sinus grafting (Hands-on)
• Case review and discussion on important clinical issues

This experience will become a defining moment in your continuing professional development, allowing you to take your practice to the next level. Through this specialized training, we offer our participants a new vision of contemporary implantology. Training based on scientific literature and techniques clinically applied in our practice for the past 30 years and that allows you to offer your patients optimal and predictable results.
Our goal is to offer advanced refresher courses that challenge participants, improve their manual dexterity, and their surgical and prosthetic skills so that they are able to apply the techniques learned in their own practice as soon as the course is over.
No matter your level of training in implantology, this course is designed to leave you with increased confidence, new skills and renewed practice. A training combining clinically applicable scientific evidence, practical exercises and live surgeries on the patient.
Our modern training facilities in Quebec City await you with a unique spirit and a very special atmosphere. This small group comprehensive 2-Day program focuses on the merits of embracing Immediacy as a patient centered implant prosthodontic treatment solution. Through a series of live and previously recorded surgeries, formal presentations, group discussions and hands-on training, dental teams will become familiar with the merits of Immediacy Protocols for both the single tooth and full arch solutions. Particular emphasis will be placed on how best to have the entire team embrace and advocate for Immediacy Protocols to be adopted in dental practices.

Join us in Whistler to experience the latest advancements in digital implant dentistry from experts in education and science. This two-day program will feature a variety of clinical cases showcasing importance of digital workflows from the esthetic zone to full-arch rehabilitation. Take part in presentation forums, networking opportunities with leading professionals and peers to build relationships to elevate your practice and career. 

This 2 day didactic and hands-on program is for the GP who wants to improve their fundamental surgical skill set. Participants will be able to experience a wide variety of
surgical procedures typically seen in a GP office, but the emphasis will be on developing effective clinical skills in flaps, suturing and extractions.

This course is limited attendance with a low instructor to student ratio and will take place in our simulation lab where you will learn on phantom heads, special dental models, and pig mandibles.

Learning Objectives

• Effectively assess patient and procedural risks
• Develop proficiency in the selection and use of surgical instruments
• Learn and apply surgical approaches to minimize tissue traumaManage
• Recognize and manage complications

Simulation lab experience will include:

• Flap design
• Suturing (interrupted, continuous locking, figure of 8)
• Biopsy techniques
• Simple extractions (forceps and elevators)
•  Surgical extractions (bone and soft tissue sparing)
• Impactions (lower mesio-angular and horizontal)
• Root removal
• Incision and Drainage (drain placement)
• Oral-antral penetration repair (sliding flaps)
• Tongue and lip tie revision
• Socket preservation and basic GB
• Sinus bump (Summers procedure)
• Connective tissue grafting
• Introduction to implant placement (guided and freehand)

Wer Implantologie betreibt, der weiß, was auch die wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen bestätigen: Das Weichgewebe um ein Implantat ist ein sehr schwer zu erhaltendes und noch schwerer zu schaffendes Gewebe. 

Der Inhalt in diesem Kurs ist speziell dem Weichgewebe, Freilegungen und Weichgewebetransplantaten sowie der Schaffung adäquater Verhältnisse um das Implantat herum gewidmet. 

Chirurgische Komplikationen und Periimplantitis lassen sich in keiner implantologisch tätigen Praxis gänzlich vermeiden – oder doch? Können wir es mit moderner Hardware schaffen, das Problem zu reduzieren? 

In diesem Kurs wird das Implantat des in Kurs 1 versorgten Patienten freigelegt, so dass der Behandlungsablauf praxisrelevant nachverfolgt werden kann. Durch die entsprechende Bilddokumentation des bisherigen Behandlungsablaufs ist der Inhalt dieses Seminars auch für Teilnehmer, die nur diesen Kurs besuchen wollen, komplett nachvollziehbar.
