Starting with a thorough evaluation of anatomical bases, we will explore the indications for implant placement, focusing on the crown-down approach. This technique enables participants to identify the future free gingival margin and assess whether the site requires tissue regeneration or is in an optimal condition. We will then dive into prosthetic profile evaluation as a fundamental step in surgical planning, followed by an in-depth analysis of various implant site scenarios: immediate post-extraction implants, implants in healed tissues, and advanced soft and hard tissue management.

Key surgical techniques will be covered, including connective tissue graft, free gingival graft, horizontal and vertical bone augmentation, and soft tissue management. We will also explore the biological considerations of the implant-to-restoration interface, ensuring long-term success. Alongside these surgical principles, emphasis will be placed on the planning and design of prosthetic rehabilitation, balancing the critical biological factors with the aesthetic excellence required for every restoration.

During the second session of the course, participants will be tasked with applying the knowledge gained in the first phase. You will plan and execute clinical cases, starting from patient evaluation and surgical planning to the actual surgery, concluding with the delivery of provisional restorations where applicable. The All-on-4® protocol is an innovative surgical procedure for the rehabilitation of edentulous jaws focusing entirely on the patient.

By taking advantage of the dense bone available in the anterior maxilla and between the mandibular foramina, this widely applicable surgical technique allows for the treatment of a significantly greater number of patients, while avoiding the need for complex, time consuming and often debilitating bone grafting procedures.

An important aspect of the long-term success of the All-on-4® concept is the full-arch implant-supported dental prosthetics. There are several options for both the immediate provisional and the definitive prosthesis with the ensemble of different materials in the infrastructure, the artificial gingiva and the crowns, each option with its own advantages and disadvantages that warrant discussion. Some examples include the MALO CLINIC ceramic bridge, the MALO CLINIC acrylic bridge, the MALO CLINIC PEEK-acrylic bridge.

The presentations by MALO CLINIC will focus on the laboratory process, clinical outcomes and scientific research using different materials in full-arch implant supported prostheses (including zygomatic implants). Designed for smaller groups, this observation program will allow you to follow in detail the daily work and surgical schedule of MALO CLINIC clinical team with a key focus on high skilled cases as well as on the combination of the All-on-4® surgical protocol with the use of zygoma implants; for severely atrophic maxillae, this procedure is complemented with extra-maxillary anchored implants – hybrid and double-zygoma approaches – which treatment planning and placement will be covered in detail during this training session. 

During this program not only will you get the chance to follow several different procedures at the operating room including live zygoma surgery, as you will also have the opportunity to extensively discuss the All-on-4® protocol hybrid and double-zygoma approaches with our clinical team that will take you through all the relevant aspects, from patient selection to treatment planning, and anatomic and imaging considerations, all the way through to the fitting of the immediate and final prostheses.
