For decades, we have dreamed of sharing our knowledge and clinical experience with ambitious dentists. Driven by the idea of pursuing new and forward-looking paths in dental education, we have developed five advanced sessions in implantology that offer participants a new learning experience. This experience will become a defining moment in your continuing professional development, allowing you to take your practice to the next level. Through this specialized training, we offer our participants a new vision of contemporary implantology. Training based on scientific literature and techniques clinically applied in our practice for the past 30 years and that allows you to offer your patients optimal and predictable results.
Our goal is to offer advanced refresher courses that challenge participants, improve their manual dexterity, and their surgical and prosthetic skills so that they are able to apply the techniques learned in their own practice as soon as the course is over.
No matter your level of training in implantology, this course is designed to leave you with increased confidence, new skills and renewed practice. A training combining clinically applicable scientific evidence, practical exercises and live surgeries on the patient.
Our modern training facilities in Quebec City await you with a unique spirit and a very special atmosphere. The friends and colleagues you will meet here may come from very different national and professional backgrounds, but they have one thing in common that unites them all: they are very passionate about their profession!

The hands-on MIT course is designed to familiarize you with implant components both surgically and prosthetically. In addition, the goal is for you to gain comfort with the procedures as outlined below. For those of you with experience in dental implants, you will gain tips and tricks from our experienced clinicians. Given the synergy between surgery and prosthetics, it’s important to understand both, regardless of your area of interest.

Learning Objectives:

The following model-based procedures will be included in the hands-on instruction:

1) Review anatomy and surgical protocol

2) Place 2 implants for mandibular overdenture

3) Place single implants

4) Suturing procedures on a soft tissue model

5) Temporary crown fabrication

6) Place, pick up, and size locators for mandibular overdentures

This 2 day didactic and hands-on program is for the GP who wants to improve their fundamental surgical skill set. Participants will be able to experience a wide variety of
surgical procedures typically seen in a GP office, but the emphasis will be on developing effective clinical skills in flaps, suturing and extractions.

This course is limited attendance with a low instructor to student ratio and will take place in our simulation lab where you will learn on phantom heads, special dental models, and pig mandibles.

Learning Objectives

• Effectively assess patient and procedural risks
• Develop proficiency in the selection and use of surgical instruments
• Learn and apply surgical approaches to minimize tissue traumaManage
• Recognize and manage complications

Simulation lab experience will include:

• Flap design
• Suturing (interrupted, continuous locking, figure of 8)
• Biopsy techniques
• Simple extractions (forceps and elevators)
•  Surgical extractions (bone and soft tissue sparing)
• Impactions (lower mesio-angular and horizontal)
• Root removal
• Incision and Drainage (drain placement)
• Oral-antral penetration repair (sliding flaps)
• Tongue and lip tie revision
• Socket preservation and basic GB
• Sinus bump (Summers procedure)
• Connective tissue grafting
• Introduction to implant placement (guided and freehand)
