Benefits of the flapless immediate implant placement & provisionalization technique

Dr. Edith Groenendijk

At the Nobel Biocare Industry Forum at EAO Congress 2024, Dr. Edith Groenendijk highlighted the advantages of flapless immediate implant placement and provisionalization (FIIPP), demonstrated through Astrid’s case – a patient with a ”gummy” smile, presenting with a fractured maxillary central incisor.

FIIPP is a minimally invasive, efficient procedure validated by a 15-year prospective clinical study involving 100 patients with diverse conditions, including buccal defects and inflammation. The technique involves preserving soft tissues, using bovine bone grafts like creos™, and placing NobelActive® implants palatally with a hand driver to create space for revascularization and long-term soft tissue support. This approach ensures esthetic stability and soft tissue gain, as confirmed with multi-year follow-ups.

For hands-on training and live surgery with the FIIPP technique, join Dr. Groenendijk’s next training course in The Hague, Netherlands, on November 7-8, 2025.
