Order your implant bars by following the step-by-step procedure below

We scan and we design

1) Check platform support

Use the overview of supported implant platforms to check if the implants used in your case are supported.7

2) Order the components

Impression copings, implant replicas, screws1 and screwdrivers for Nobel Biocare platforms can be ordered on our online store. Components for other platforms have to be purchased from the respective manufacturer. Attachments are included with the implant bar.

3) Fabricate the model

Fabricate the model with removable soft tissue and the diagnostic tooth set-up. Find out how to fabricate the master model, the verification jig (optional) and the diagnostic tooth setup.

Important: Please always use new/undamaged implant replicas and make sure all blood and tissue residues are removed (to avoid issues at customs).

4) Fill in the order form

Download the order form. Fill in one order form per bar order. The following documents will help you to create your order

5) Fill in the proforma invoice

If you are located outside the US, download the proforma invoice (commercial invoice for customs). Find out how to best fill it in to avoid issues at customs.

6) Organize the shipment

Schedule a pickup with UPS. You can either call the UPS hotline or schedule your pickup online (scroll down for detailed instructions).2 Note: only when scheduling online you can create and print the shipping label yourself.

7) Finalize the shipping package

Put everything into one box6 for shipping. Use this checklist to ensure everything is included. On the outside of the package attach the UPS shipping label.

For shipments from outside the US: include three copies of the proforma invoice in a transparent pouch on the outside of the package.

8) Review the design suggestion

After we have scanned and designed your bar (within one to two working days after we have received the case), you will receive an e-mail with a 3D pdf or screenshots (if requested) to make comments and approve the design. Find out how to use the 3D pdf.

9) Track the status

Once you approve the design you can track the production and shipping status of your bar using the track and trace tool. Production takes one to three working days after you have approved the case and shipping takes another one to three working days depending on your geographic location.

10) Receive your implant bar

You will receive everything in one package: Polished3 implant bar, screws1, your case materials, guarantee card and authenticity labels.

We scan and you design

This option is available if you have a NobelProcera System to design your implant bar.

8) Design your implant bar with the NobelProcera Software

You will receive the scan files directly to your NobelProcera Software one to two working days after we have received the case. For this, the NobelProcera Software must be running. Design the implant bar and follow the usual order procedure in your software.

9) Track the status

Once you submit the order you can track the production and shipping status of your bar using the track and trace tool. Production takes one to three working days after you have uploaded your design and shipping takes another one to three working days depending on your geographic location.

10) Receive your implant bar

You will receive everything in one package: Polished3 implant bar, screws1, your case materials, guarantee card and authenticity labels.

We produce your wax-up

1) Check platform support

Fabricate the model with removable soft tissue and wax-up framework. Find out how to fabricate the master model, the verification jig (optional) and the diagnostic tooth setup.

Important: Please always use new/undamaged implant replicas and make sure all blood and tissue residues are removed (to avoid issues at customs).

FAQs

How much does my order cost?

The total cost includes the price for your bar (as well as the screws and attachments)3 and the price for the service you choose

  • The bar price depends on whether your case has 2-3, 4-5 or 6+ implants
  • For the service we will charge separate fees for scanning, designing and/or copymilling (producing your wax-up)
  • If your case contains platforms other than Nobel Biocare we will charge an additional fee

When will my bar arrive?

The exact delivery time depends on the service you select and your geographic location. The estimated turnaround times4 (excluding shipment) are as follows:

  • We scan and design: 5 working days
  • We scan and you design: 4 working days
  • We produce your wax-up: 3 working days 

The following times will be added to the turnaround times if applicable:

  • Time to obtain your approval of the design
  • Time you need if you create the design
  • Time to contact you to verify additional information. To avoid this, please make sure to closely follow the procedures described in the order procedure for the respective service you choose

How can I find out the status of my order?

To find out about the shipping status from your lab to our facility in Mahwah you can use the UPS tracking tool. Depending on the service you selected, we will send you an email when the design is ready for your approval or when the scan files are ready for the design in your NobelProcera Software. To find out about the production and shipping status use our Track and Trace tool.

Which implant platforms do you support?

As a medical device company we carefully engineer and thoroughly verify every implant connection before we support patient cases. Currently, we support more than 170 platforms and continuously add more. Please find all supported implant platforms in the overview of supported implant platforms.7

Which screws are delivered with the bar?

Please refer to pages two and three of your order form to see the screws included for each implant platform. For all Nobel Biocare and Straumann Standard/Standard Plus/Bone Level platforms lab and clinical screws are supplied. For cases with platforms for which screws are not included you find all article numbers in the implant platform overview. Use the article numbers to purchase the screws from the respective implant manufacturer.

How can I order attachments?

You can order the attachments by indicating it in the order form (for "we scan and design service" and "we produce your wax-up service") or in the NobelProcera Software (for "we scan you design service"). The attachments will then be delivered together with the bar. If you need replacements please contact our customer service.

What material is the implant bar made of?

All bars are milled from solid titanium monoblocs. We do not offer zirconia for any type of implant bar.

Currently no specific ceramic veneering solution has been certified.

Can I send plastic templates instead of a diagnostic wax-up?

Please do not ship plastic templates (plastic or rubber which takes the shape of teeth; also known as "suck downs") as they cannot be scanned properly and do not provide enough details for design. Instead, always send a diagnostic wax-up as described in the checklist for the shipping package.

What does “internal case identification number” on the order form mean?

It is the restoration ID you have assigned to this patient case. It can be the date, tooth number or any other internal code you might use to identify your case. Please do not send patient identifying information (e.g. patient names) to us directly.

How to get the UPS shipping label?

If you schedule your pickup online (scroll down for detailed instructions) you can create and print the shipping label yourself. You can also have the driver bring the shipping documents for a fee. Please contact UPS to find out if this option is available in your region.

Can I use another courier than UPS?

To ship your case material to our NobelProcera Services Center you can choose any courier. However, we strongly recommend to use UPS and can only support you if you choose UPS. Shipments from our service center to your destination will be made with UPS.

Are there any design limitations?

To ensure long-term stability of your restoration we have throroughly researched and tested optimal design parameters. As a result we limit the design to the following parameters5:

In addition the following general design parameters should be followed:

  • For cantilevers with clip: distal cylinders should have a minimum 1mm wall thickness
  • For beveled distal cylinders: the minimum thickness point between the inner screw head surface and the external cylinder surface should not be less than 0.25mm
  • For micro and macro fixed shape extension links over 10mm: a 1.5mm radius reinforcement is required between the cylinder and link
  • For screwed attachments: there should be a minimum 1mm wall thickness between the external thread shape and the outside buccal and lingual wall of the bar

What if my specified design does not meet the design limitations?

If the design you specify is beyond our limitations we will contact you. You can then either redesign3 or have us adapt the design to meet the requirements. Please note that this will increase the total turnaround time.

How can I prevent a case from being rejected?

To reduce the risk of a case rejection, we recommend the following:

  • Closely follow the order procedures for the service type you choose
  • Make sure the implant replicas (model analogs) are new and undamaged, well seated in your model and not loose. Multi-unit restorations require very high precision. We thus recommend to use original manufacturer analogs
  • Closely follow the above design limitations. If your case can't be made within these limitations, we won't be able to produce it
  • Make sure the model can't be damaged during shipment
  • Only send cases with implant platforms we support

What if the final product does not meet the specifications I made?

If the product does not meet the specifications you defined, you can submit a remake order. Please note that in every case you have to send the model again to Mahwah (needed for control of the new bar we will produce).

Please remember: Remake orders can only be processed if the terms and conditions of the Nobel Biocare warranty program apply. Nobel Biocare may request that the product in question is submitted for investigation to determine if the warranty applies. If a requested product is not submitted to Nobel Biocare, the remake is excluded from the warranty.

When are you closed?

The NobelProcera Services Center is closed during weekends and at the following dates. Please take into account the public holidays, to calculate the turnaround time of your orders.

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • US Memorial Day (the last Monday of May)
  • US Independence Day (July 4)
  • US Labor Day (the first Monday of September)
  • Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday of November)
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve (December 24)
  • Christmas Day (December 25)
