The 5 treatment aspects most important to All-on-4® Centers of Excellence
The content of this blog has been adapted from the previously published article “What motivates the All-on-4® Centers of Excellence?” from Science First Journal, Volume 6, Issue 1, page 22.
Now found in 26 countries, the All-on-4® Center of Excellence program was created by Nobel Biocare to recognize practices demonstrating high expertise with the All-on-4® treatment concept and commitment to using original-on-original surgical and restorative components.
As a Science First Journal article topic, we wanted to find out what aspects of Nobel Biocare’s pioneering full-arch protocol stand out to clinicians and why they choose the All-on-4® treatment concept for their patients. Based on their responses, the most common themes revolved around immediacy, longevity, esthetics, quality of life, and predictability.
1. Immediacy: Not just faster time to teeth
Why do clinicians value immediacy? It's not just about faster time to teeth and patient satisfaction; systematic reviews have shown immediately loaded implants demonstrate slight improvements in marginal bone maintenance1 and soft tissue response2,3.
"All-on-4® is amazing because it's immediate. Because it brings back function. Because you can personalize life-changing treatment for every single patient."
– Dr. Joe Mehranfar, US
"The unique design of NobelActive implants allows immediate loading with All-on-4® even with unfavorable bone conditions in the maxilla."
– Dr. Roberto Sleiter, Switzerland
2. Longevity: the All-on-4® treatment concept is an investment
Owing to its expense, many patients consider the All-on-4® treatment concept a significant investment into their oral and systemic health as well as their overall wellbeing. With over 25 years of clinical use, the All-on-4® treatment concept has demonstrated its longevity as a full-arch solution for edentulous and soon-to-be edentulous patients.4
"Longevity, strength, and esthetics. These are what I need for my patients, and I have been using exclusively Nobel Biocare to achieve this with the All-on-4® treatment concept."
– Dr. Scott MacLean, Canada
"As a lab, we are continually seeing All-on-4® as one of the best decisions to make for health, immediacy, and long-term success."
– Mr. Greg Sederlin (CDT), US

3. Esthetics: Restoring looks and self-confidence
Clinicians state that patients appreciate how the All-on-4® treatment concept can quickly restore the appearance of their smile following edentulism.
"Becoming an All-on-4® Center of Excellence is a milestone for us. It is a prestigious recognition and a great motivation to continue, knowing that our specialist work improves patients' lives by restoring lost function and esthetics with the best technology."
– Dr. Ignacio Ginebreda Cairó
"All-on-4® brings the possibility to realize a fixed full-arch rehabilitation in one day for patients with hopeless teeth, unstable dentures, or even complete edentulism. Esthetics and function in such a short time brings back wellbeing and joy of life."
– Helmut Baader, Germany
4. Predictability: Demonstrated by 25-plus years of clinical use
Without predictability, it would be difficult to consistently achieve desirable clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, practice efficiency, and manage risk. The clinical predictability of Nobel Biocare’s Multi-unit Abutments has been documented in at least 125 clinical studies,5 and the All-on-4® treatment concept has demonstrated excellent mean implant survival of 97.5% with a mean follow-up to 7.5 years6.
"The All-on-4® treatment concept is one of the most powerful, versatile, and predictable features in the implantology arsenal."
– Dr. Ernesto Tocantins, Portugal
5. Quality of life: Treatments go beyond function and esthetics
The All-on-4® treatment concept is often called "life-changing" as it benefits patients in several important ways. For one, it's an immediate solution. In the long term, the full-arch treatment restores function and esthetics while also helping to preserve bone.
“Innovation and precision are key elements in providing patients with the improved quality of life they are seeking with the All-on-4® treatment concept."
– Dr. Chun-Yin Lee, Taiwan
"We have improved the quality of life of hundreds of patients with this extremely reliable solution, even in difficult cases. I thank Nobel Biocare for your All-on-4® expertise, and patients for your trust in me."
– Dr. Giampaolo Zanotto, Italy
