Who can submit a nomination?

Nominations can be submitted by an individual, an association, or a group who has identified extraordinary contributions to the field of dental implantology. Nominations are welcome from all countries. 

What should I include in the “Detailed description” section of the submission?

In this section, please provide a comprehensive overview of the nominee’s contributions in the field of implant dentistry. Focus on detailing the humanitarian or innovative impact that makes the nominee deserving of the Nobel Biocare Medal of Excellence. Be specific, include context, and highlight the significance of their work. Download this template for clinical cases. 

As well as your detailed description, the following resources may help the nomination: 

- Humanitarian: 

  • Links to online content about their project (such as their website, media coverage, or social media posts).
  • Testimonials from patients and/or their loved ones.
  • Videos and photos of the project.
  • Letters of reference from other dental professionals.
  • CV of nominee (either the individual candidate or leader(s) of the group/project)

- Innovation

  • Scientific data supporting the success of a solution or treatment technique, preferably in peer-reviewed articles.

Can I nominate myself, or do I need to be nominated by someone else?

Yes, individuals are welcome to nominate themselves or nominate others.

Can I nominate more than one person, or is there a limit to the number of nominations I can submit?

There’s no limit to how many people you can nominate. You’re also welcome to nominate yourself more than once, as long as each entry is for a different project.

What happens after I submit a nomination?

All nominations will be reviewed after the submission deadline of October 15th. The committee will review a shortlist of entries in accordance with the judging criteria. The runners-up will be announced December 20th, and the winner in February 2026. You and the nominee will be contacted to inform you of the result.

Can I edit my nomination after submitting it?

What criteria will the judges use to evaluate nominations?

Nominations will be evaluated based on their strength and impact in one of the following categories:

– Innovation: Demonstrated advancements in treatment solutions, scientific research, or clinical protocols that enable clinicians to treat more patients more effectively.

– Humanitarian service: Meaningful efforts to improve the quality of life for underserved populations through dental implant treatments that go beyond routine clinical care.

Judges will rely solely upon the information and evidence provided by the nominator to make their decisions. 

What are the key dates and deadlines I should be aware of?

– October 15th – Submissions deadline December.

– December 20th – Announcement of runners up.

– February 2026 – Announcement of winner and presentation of the award.

Is there a fee to participate or submit a nomination?

No, participation and nomination submission are completely free.

Where and when will the winners be announced?

The winner will be announced and presented with the Medal in early February 2026.
