by: Vibeke Oestergaard

Sold-out hands-on sessions and master classes, 13 global speakers, 58 Japanese key opinion leaders and 2,212 attendees – the biggest Nobel Biocare Symposium of the year was a great success.

On September 5 – 7, more than two thousand dental professionals from Japan and beyond gathered in Tokyo for the biggest Nobel Biocare Symposium of the year. The participants could choose between lectures, hands- on sessions and master classes on topics ranging from peri-implantitis to immediate placement and function and, of course, had the chance to catch up with their colleagues at a big party in the evening.

Dr. Kihara was very impressed by the event:

“The symposium was highly informative and I would recommend my colleagues to go the next time it takes place. I especially learned a lot from the session focused on peri-implantitis.”

Japanese launch of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation

58 Japanese key opinion leaders and 13 global speakers gave lectures and hosted hands-on sessions and master classes during the two-and-a-half-day long event. Mr. Nakajima, who owns a lab, joined several dental technician sessions:

“The sessions gave me a solution to some technical concerns and problems I have experienced. The Nobel Biocare staff presented the 2G Scanner to me, and I also learned about the SmartFusion technology. A scanner is a big investment for a lab so it’s helpful to have the latest product information.”

Other highlights from the event included a message from Per-Ingvar Brånemark and a big exhibition area with a wide array of Nobel Biocare products. The release of the Angulated Screw Channel Abutment and the launch of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation Japan also caught the attention of the many attendees.

Dr. Zhang Yu, who came all the way from China, doesn’t hesitate when asked if he’d recommend Nobel Biocare Symposia to his colleagues.

“Sure I would. I have participated in Nobel Biocare Symposia twice, and I think they have a very high quality. I’d recommend my colleagues to come enjoy the information and sharing of techniques.”
