As always Nobel Biocare will attend the 2011 AO Annual Meeting to be held March 3-5. The theme of this years meeting is: ”Back to the Future: Combining Fundamental Principles with New Technologies for the Next 25 Years”. You will find Nobel Biocare in booth #403 in the exhibition.

Hands-on session

We will also host a hands-on session on the topic ”Immediate Provisionalization and Placement”. Make sure to register now because the Attendance is limited to 38 people.

The learning outcomes are:

Describe the benefits of immediate provisionalization
Identify available planning software;
Discuss the surgical and prosthetic techniques required to accomplish various forms of provisionalization;
Fabricate chairside provisionals on models using the above knowledge and materials.

Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided to all registrants. A wine and cheese reception will immediately follow, giving workshop participants the opportunity to meet other corporate representatives and to learn more about our products and services.

“On Reconciling our Patients’ Needs and Preferences with Current Bio-Technological Advances”

The challenge of employing bio-technological advances to optimize comprehensive implant treatment outcomes demands ongoing analysis. Reconciling new technologies with a continuum of surgical and prosthodontic skill refinement also demands renewed commitments to scientifically tenable interpretations of efficacy and effectiveness objectives. This forum combines the synergistic scholarly skills of distinguished international clinical experts. They will seek to integrate contemporary clinical concepts and their patient management applications for advanced treatment planning

This interactive treatment planning session will be conducted by: Dr Ole Jensen, Dr Sonia Leziy, Dr Brahm Miller, Dr Stefan Holst and Dr Eirik Salvesen and moderated by Dr George Zarb.

Speakers

Stefan Holst

Dr. Stefan Holst holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-University, where he also serves as senior lecturer and heads the CAD/CAM research laboratories. He has published multiple papers on digital dentistry, material sciences and biomechanics in prosthodontics. His research expertise focuses primarily on CAD/CAM technology, digital dentistry and related material sciences. Dr. Holst was appointed clinical associate professor and senior lecturer at the Dental Clinic 2 in 2006, and in 2009 he became the Associate Editor of the Quintessence International journal.

Ole Jensen

Sonia Leziy

Specialist in Periodontics. Private practice Vancouver, Canada. Associate clinical Professor- University of British Columbia. Member of the editorial boards of the Journal Spectrum Dialogue and Teamwork: the insider’s guide to quality dentistry. Published in the areas of implant esthetics and surgical protocols. Coauthor of the textbook Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning- Principles, Design, Implementation (Michael Cohen ed), Quintessence Publishing Co, Inc. (2008). Lectures internationally on the subjects of perio-plastic surgery and implant esthetics.

Brahm Miller

Dr. Miller received his dental degree from McGill University in 1990. He completed his post-graduate prosthodontics certification at the Medical College of Virginia in 1994. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, a member of the British Columbia Society of Prosthodontists, a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a fellow of the Canadians Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and past president of the British Columbia Society of Prosthodontists. Dr. Miller is an associate clinical professor and sessional lecturer at the University of British Columbia and lectures nationally and internationally on implant dentistry and ceramic systems. He also co-mentors the Vancouver Prosthodontic, Periodontic and Implant Study Group Seminars and the Coast Study Club. Dr. Miller is in full-time private practice specialising in comprehensive aesthetic and advanced implant prosthodontics.

Eirik Salvesen

Dr. Eirik Aasland Salvesen is a specialist in Periodontology. He is a partner at TSMG in Stavanger, Norway, where he holds the position as Director of the TSMG Academy. Also, since 2004 he has been working with Nobel Biocare as both a lecturer and in the Mentorship program. Since 2008 he has worked as Clinical consultant for Nobel Biocare in the Nordic countries.

George Zarb

Dr. George Zarb has enjoyed a long, productive and happy career in Prosthodontic scholarship. His commitment has been recognized via several Honorary Doctorates and the Order of Canada, his country’s highest civilian award. He has taught and practiced Prosthodontics in Toronto for over four decades and is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics. His most recent book ‘Osseointegration: On Continuing Synergies in Surgery, Prosthodontics and Biomaterials’ was recently published by QPC and co-edited by Tomas Albrektsson, Gerald Baker, Steven Eckert, Clark Stanford, Dennis Tarnow and Ann Wennerberg.
