Clinical studies on Replace® Select Tapered and Straight Implants (June 2003)

The documentation referred to below consists of articles and abstracts published, or accepted for publication, in scientific journals.

The TiUnite™ surface was introduced on the market in year 2000. It has proven to support the healing process and prevent loss of implant stability during healing in both experimental and clinical studies (ref 23-40).

Clinical studies have evaluated over 800 TiUnite-coated implants placed in about 400 patients. The studies, mostly performed with a single-stage surgery and early or immediately loading (ref 41-50), show high implant success rates, between 96-100% after 6-12 months.

The Replace Select implant with a tapered design was introduced on the market in year 1997. The design is documented in several clinical studies. In most of these studies single-stage surgery and immediate function are applied. The implants are often placed directly into extraction sockets (ref 13-18). The results show high cumulative implant success rates, between 97-100% after 1 year of prosthetic loading.

The Replace Select straight implants have the same body design as Branemark SystemR implants. This design is thoroughly documented in the many long-term (at least 5 years follow-up), prospective clinical studies performed over the last decades (ref 51-89).
