Satellite Industry Symposium, Lomond Auditorium

At the 19th annual EAO meeting in Glasgow, dental professionals from around the world met to learn about new solutions and possibilities in the dental industry. At the Nobel Biocare booth and hospitality suite visitors were able to try Nobel Biocare's latest products and solutions and talk to some of the world’s most renowned dental experts.

The Nobel Biocare Satellite Symposium titled "Preferred treatment concepts for today’s patient needs" was a great success with over 800 participants. If you missed it or would like to watch the presentations again, below are video clips of Nobel Biocare seminars at the EAO.

Speakers

Tidu Mankoo

Dr Tidu Mankoo runs a private inter-disciplinary team practice in Windsor, UK, focussing on Implant, Complex Restorative and Aesthetic cases. He performs both surgical and prosthetic treatments. He is the current President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, founder and Past President of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, a member of the EAO, fellow of the International College of Dentists and a member of numerous other societies. He serves on the Editorial Board of a number of dental journals. He is a respected teacher with numerous publications, a sought-after international speaker. He lectures and gives courses regularly all over the world.

Andrew Dawood

Dr. Dawood is a Registered Specialist in Periodontology and Prosthodontics, working in Private Practice in London, and also in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital Trust, and University College Hospital, London. He runs a unique private multidisciplinary specialist referral practice. The need for exemplary imaging and computer planning for complex dental implant treatments led to the development of cavendishimaging.com, an imaging and surgical planning facility, which has operated as a freestanding entity for 15 years. Along with a team of scientists and 3D technologists cavendishimaging. com provides imaging, computer planned surgical solutions, and rapid prototype models, guides, and craniofacial implants for implant and maxillofacial Surgeons and hospital departments around the UK. He lectures extensively on topics related to oral implants, imaging, and surgical planning. He also operates a centre for postgraduate education, and hosts regular meetings and seminars from premises in London, Oxford, and Birmingham.

Isabella Rocchietta

Dr. Isabella Rocchietta graduated in 2002 with full marks in dentistry from the University of Milan, Italy, where she was also awarded a one-year scholarship from the school’s Department of Medicine. Today she is a research fellow at the Division of Periodontology, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA. Dr. Rocchietta is a resident and tutor at the Department of Periodontology, University of Milan, Italy, and a research consultant for the Institute for Dental Research and Education (IDRE). She is ala Academy of Osseointegration, the Italian Society of Periodontology, and Chairman of the EAO Junior Committee. Dr. Rocchietta is the author of several national and international peer-reviewed publications, as well as several book chapters. Today she is an international speaker on bone regeneration by means of growth factors and scaffolds, tissue engineering, osseointegration, and implant surface modifications.

Eirik Salvesen

Dr Eirik Aasland Salvesen is a specialist in Periodontology. He is a partner at TSMG in Stavanger (Norway), where he holds the position as Director of the TSMG Academy. Since 2004 he has been cooperating with Nobel Biocare as a lecturer and in the Mentorship program. Since 2008 he has worked as Clinical consultant for Nobel Biocare in the Nordic countries.

Stefan Holst

Dr. Stefan Holst holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-University, where he also serves as senior lecturer, and heads the CAD/CAM research laboratories. He has authored multiple published papers on digital dentistry, material sciences and biomechanics in prosthodontics. His research expertise focuses primarily on CAD/CAM technology/digital dentistry and related material sciences. Since 2006 Dr. Holst is appointed clinical associate professor and senior lecturer at the Dental Clinic 2, and since 2009 he is Associate Editor of the Quintessence International journal.

Paulo Malo

Paulo Malo DDS founded MALO CLINIC in 1995 and developed the innovative “All-on-4” surgical technique that revolutionized Implantology and Fixed Oral Rehabilitation. Has published several scientific articles and is a frequent guest speaker in international conferences related to Health and Management. His managing, leadership and entrepreneurial skills led to awards like INSEAD 2007 and SANTIAGO 2008.

Roland Glauser

Dr. Glauser graduated from University of Zürich and was from 1997 to 2006 assistant professor at the Department for Fixed Prosthodontics, University of Zürich. He is an active member in the European Association for Osseointegration EAO and serves as a certified expert in Oral Implantology in the European Dental Association EDA. Dr. Glauser runs a private clinic in Zürich and holds an appointment as clinical associate professor at the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia.

Tristan Staas

Dr. Tristan Staas (1965) graduated from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) in 1988. Together with his wife, also a dentist, he founded Staas&Bergmans in 1990, a praxis for general dentistry, and clinic for esthetic dentistry and implantology. Tristan gained a lot of experience in implantology during the fifteen years he has been focusing on this field of dentistry. He is especially interested in immediate replacement and works together with several renowned practices in the Netherlands. Tristan teaches colleague dentists and implantologists in immediate replacement and the use of NobelActive implants.
