60 yearssince the discovery of osseointegration.
30 yearssince the landmark conference in Toronto.
Led by presenters and moderators Dr. William Becker and Dr. Peter Wöhrle, the corporate forum will be conducted by experienced clinicians and researchers.
Professor P-I Brånemark discovered osseointegration 60 years ago. Since then, millions of successful implants have been placed and restored in patients around the world. They have benefited from enhanced:
• Function
• Soft tissue health
• Esthetics
• Quality of life
Nobel Biocare solutions are built on the heritage of Professor Brånemark. The result is biologically driven and scientifically proven products and concepts. Over the years, Nobel Biocare has invested in products, protocols and studies to support clinicians with treatment options. In turn, they can best serve their patients’ needs with reliable results. Nobel Biocare products facilitate:
• Shorter treatment times
• Product ease of use
• Less invasive protocols
Of additional benefit, graftless procedures are supported by digital dentistry and CAD/CAM solutions for precision and fit.

“Patient-oriented treatment approaches remain the key to success.”
At AO 2012, we bring together a team of experts who will share their long-term experiences in patient- orientated treatment approaches. The focus will be on implant esthetics, soft tissue health and treatment of the anatomically compromised patient. In addition, the importance of teamwork will be discussed.
The moderators Dr. William Becker and Dr. Peter Wöhrle will lead the audience through this exciting forum, together with renowned experts Dr. Edmond Bedrossian, Dr. Torsten Jemt, Dr. Christopher Marchack, Dr. Steve Parel and Dr. Bernard Touati.
8:00 am – 8:45 am
Esthetics and soft tissue health around implants - outcomes for long-term predictability.
Speakers: Dr. Bernard Touati, Dr. Peter Wöhrle
The aim of this treatment planning session is to identify and optimally control those factors that contribute to overall soft tissue health and stability in dental implant treatment. These include implant design, abutment type and shape, restoration contour and a meticulously and scrupulously executed sequence of clinical procedures.
9:00 am – 9:45 am
Concepts, materials and long-term outcome in treatment of compromised patients/ compromised clinical situations.
Speakers: Dr. Torsten Jemt, Dr. Steve Parel, Dr. Peter Wöhrle
Once proof of the osseointegration principle was established, clinicians started to focus on esthetic achievements and long-term restorative results. In the 1980s, Nobel Biocare had already begun to develop innovative prosthetic solutions under the Procera® umbrella. These material developments and CAD/CAM technology are now as relevant for patients as reliable implants. In this session, long-term follow up of early treatments will be covered by Dr. Jemt (Brånemark Clinic, Sweden) and Dr. Parel (Clearchoice, Dallas Texas) – two highly experienced clinicians and researchers.
In addition, 10 years of clinical experiences, follow-up and scientific evidence will be presented for implants with the TiUnite surface.
10:15 am – 11:00 am
Advanced treatment planning – integrating and applying innovative clinical concepts.
Presenters: Dr. Christopher Marchack, Dr. Edmond Bedrossian
Our presenters will introduce two complex patient scenarios to actively engage the audience. In response, the audience will be encouraged to participate by asking questions and challenging the onstage experts. After an in-depth discussion of treatment options, the completed treatment will be presented.
11:15 am – Noon
An overview of treatment solutions for the edentulous patient with a focus on All-on-4.
Speakers: Dr. Edmond Bedrossian, Dr. Steve Parel
Treatment strategies and related protocols in implant dentistry for edentulous patients have changed dramatically and are continually being refined and developed. The aim of this session is to focus on the specific needs of the edentulous patient and the selected management rationale for each specific case.
